Read a brief outcome on how the program distributed the funding.
(WRRAP) is the largest national, independent, nonprofit abortion fund. They provide urgently-needed financial assistance nationwide to individuals seeking abortion services or emergency contraception.
WRRAP assists women and girls of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds who are financially unable to pay for safe, legal abortions or emergency contraceptives. They provide funds directly to pre-screened, pre-qualified health clinics and doctors across the nation on behalf of women in need of abortion services or emergency contraceptives. WRRAP does not ask for repayment of funds.
WRRAP fills the gap between public and private funding and what low-income women are able to afford. Their highly-trained volunteers staff our telephone hotline five days a week, working directly with over 700 clinics, hospitals, and doctors across the country, getting funds to women in need.
Abortion funds provide financial assistance to individuals who cannot afford the costs of an abortion or emergency contraceptives (ECs).
They work directly with pre-qualified, reputable reproductive health clinics across the U.S. on behalf of the person in need.
WRRAP does not send funds directly to individuals. Instead, they work with pre-screened, pre-approved health clinics, hospitals, and doctors, who contact them on behalf of the individual seeking abortion services and who needs financial assistance. They have over 700 health clinics and providers in the WRRAP-affiliated network. They are pre-screened to ensure they are legitimate and provide the highest standard of medical care.
"Telehealth abortion care is the wave of the future," said Sylvia Ghazarian, executive director of WRRAP. "We want to support these services."
With the grant from Forix approximately 66 women will have access to control their reproductive health in a safe and confidential manner.
